This is a traditional Celtic music session. Participants bring their own instruments and play traditional tunes from Cornwall, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man and Brittany.
Tunes from the less-commonly recognised Celtic nations are also welcome. A small number of English tunes are grudgingly accepted in addition to Celtic tunes.
The session is aimed at including musicians of all abilities. This means that some tunes will be slow, some will be fast and some will start slow and get fast (but probably not the other way round).
Everyone is invited to start a tune (unless there are more people than there is time) and will set the tempo for their own tune.
Sheet music will not be provided but please feel free to bring your own if that's what you play from.
We don't currently have a set of commonly played tunes, but we might do in time.
Singing is acceptable, as long as song is in Cornish or another Celtic language.
Please make room for people joining the session late. It is OK to join the session at any time, although if you are more than 2 hours late we cannot guarantee that there will be anyone left (but there might be).
